Make your life an adventure, not a struggle!
You have a precious gift in your heart. It yearns to be shared, and you’re doing your best, but something just isn’t working. You’re exhausted from the struggle, feeling lost and directionless. This can mess up your life in many ways, like…
- You feel busy all the time, but when you think back on what you’ve accomplished, you can’t come up with anything that feels meaningful.
- You can’t decide whether to keep your job or quit. So you muddle through and feel doubtful – or even worse, resentful.
- You don’t know whether to move somewhere else or stay where you are. So you waffle – or even worse, you make a halfhearted decision and regret it.
- You struggle with romantic relationships. When things get rocky, you sometimes feel the urge to cut and run, and you don’t know whether that’s a sign of something wrong with the relationship or something wrong with you.
- You’ve recently lost interest in things you used to enjoy, and you haven’t been able to find anything new to replace them with. You’re wondering, “What’s missing?”
What to do? What’s the path forward?
It’s hard to find your path in life, and when life drops a giant boulder in the middle of your path, it’s even harder to get past it.
What if you had a compass?
Imagine that you could avoid the dead ends and pitfalls, so you could spend more time actually walking your path, as you were meant to, instead of groping through the fog or pushing on that big boulder. Imagine that you had a compass that could point you in the right direction, even when you feel hopelessly lost.
You can find that compass. You can avoid those pitfalls. You can feel fulfilled and aligned, full of purpose and meaning.
In Pathfinding 101, I’ll show you how.
I’ve distilled the best, most helpful techniques from my 6 years of Pathfinding coaching, and I’ve crafted this 3-week course around them. I’ve identified the 3 top things that have helped my coaching clients the most and converted them to work well in a teleclass format.
At the end of the course, you will feel more clarity, purpose, ease, and confidence.
- You’ll feel certain that you are walking on the right path – or you’ll know exactly what you need to do to get there.
- You’ll feel more ease and peace; your life will feel more like an adventure and less like a struggle.
- You’ll feel more confidence in making decisions. You’ll stop second-guessing yourself all the time.
I’ll be able to help you best if:
- You know that you want to find or forge your own path, not follow in anyone else’s footsteps.
- You are open to reflection and change.
- You’ve felt, at least once in your life, an inkling or an intuition that you have a path that’s calling to you. Maybe faintly, maybe strongly, maybe clearly, maybe mixed-up… but your heart, on some level, feels the pull.
If these three things are true for you, I can help you.
What You’ll Learn
Here’s what we’ll cover in Pathfinding 101:
Class 1: Quench Your Thirst
In the first class, we’ll make preparations for the journey ahead. A lot of people never find their path because they believe they don’t have enough energy, strength, clarity, willpower, or “oomph.” They blame themselves because they don’t “have what it takes.”
It’s ridiculous to try to manufacture these qualities on your own – you’ll run dry and burn out. (Sound familiar?) In Class One, you’ll learn how to tap into a renewable wellspring full of all the resources you need.
Class 2: Orient Your Compass
In the second class, we’ll go straight to the heart of Pathfinding – your inner compass. You’ll learn how to find and orient your Compass, and you’ll learn how to use it to guide you toward the path that’s right for you.
You’ll learn how to make the best choice in a tough situation, and come out of it with clarity and confidence. No more second-guessing yourself!
Class 3: Find Your Path
In the third and final class, we’ll put it all together and teach you how to find your path. Some people find their path on the first try. For others, it takes more persistence and patience – but the same process works regardless.
Life doesn’t come with a map – you can never know what’s around the next bend – but you can know whether you’re on the path that’s right for you.
In Class Three, you’ll learn the tools and techniques you need to get started on the journey of a lifetime!
Details: When, Where, What, & How
Pathfinding 101 is a 3-week course, conducted entirely online and on the phone.
Each week, I’ll teach a 1-hour teleclass that you can call into via phone or Skype.
- Week 1 Class: Thursday, Oct 29, 3pm-4pm Eastern (noon-1pm Pacific, other time zones)
- Week 2 Class: Thursday, Nov 5, 3pm-4pm Eastern (noon-1pm Pacific)
- Week 3 Class: Thursday, Nov 12, 3pm-4pm Eastern (noon-1pm Pacific)
If you can’t be present for class, no worries! You can listen to the recording later. For example, last time I taught this course, I had a student in Portugal who couldn’t be present for any of the classes, so she took the course by listening to the recordings and got everything she needed.
Yes, you’ll need to do a bit more than listen to me talk if you want to find your path. (: Each week, you’ll have an assignment to complete. I’ll go over it during class, and I’ll also explain it clearly in the handouts.
I’ll also be available for office hours in case you have questions, or if you get stuck on an assignment. Office hours will be held on Tuesdays:
- First Office Hour: Tuesday, Nov 3, 3pm-4pm Eastern (noon-1pm Pacific, other time zones)
- Second Office Hour: Tuesday, Nov 10, 3pm-4pm Eastern (noon-1pm Pacific)
Recordings of office hours will also be made available if you want them. If you can’t be present for office hours, you can ask me questions in advance via email. You can also ask questions and receive support in the…
You’ll be invited to join a private Facebook group, the Pathfinders’ Canteen, available only to Pathfinding 101 students. You can connect with the other students and support each other. You can ask questions here, and everyone is welcome to help out. And of course, I’ll be present in the group to answer your questions or provide guidance.
About the Teacher
Oh, I haven’t introduced myself yet!
Hi! I’m Pace Smith, the Pathfinding Coach. I help sensitive spiritual nonconformists live wild, crazy, meaningful lives.
I’m also an Enneagram podcaster, a teacher, a speaker, a writer, a Sufi dervish, a bi poly trans gamer geek, an open-source Reiki healer, and a tournament-level Dance Dance Revolution player. I dyed my hair purple the day I quit my day job, and I love it every single day, even (especially?) after the purple has faded to pink.
I began following my heart in 2007, when my wife Kyeli and I taught about communication and relationships to a small audience. After the presentation, two-thirds of the audience members came over to thank us and tell us how much we had helped them.
My heart felt so full of love that day that I could never go back to doing only tech work. That was the day I decided to follow my heart.
I knew I wanted to help other sensitive spiritual nonconformists, but I had to learn how first. I studied, I experimented, I practiced. I taught, coached, wrote, presented, and blogged my heart out. I succeeded enough to keep me going, I failed enough to keep me humble, and I learned enough to allow me to be of service to others. I helped handfuls, then hundreds, then thousands of people listen to their hearts, choose wisely, and find their paths.
The origin story of Pathfinding 101
In my years as a Pathfinding Coach – helping people find their paths in life – I’ve learned a lot about following your heart.
In 2013, I attempted to distill the essence of the Pathfinding Program, my 6-month-long intensive coaching program, into a teaching format. I called it Pathfinding Class, and it was a rousing success! But there was still something missing…
In 2014, I took the feedback I received from Pathfinding Class, then added in a couple of powerful principles I’ve learned in the past year from Decisive and The Desire Map. I expanded the class from 3 weeks to 5, and I named it Choose Wisely.
It was amazing… but overwhelming. It was too sprawling, too much of a “let me tell you everything I know” info-dump.
So, instead of trying to squeeze 6 months of material into a few weeks, I decided to focus on quality instead of quantity. I asked myself, “What can I teach in 3 weeks that will help you learn how to listen to your heart?”
I threw out everything that didn’t directly help you learn how to listen to your heart.
I threw out everything that wasn’t thoroughly tested by my Pathfinding coaching clients.
I threw out everything that didn’t feel right when I checked in with my own heart.
I was left with 2 rock-solid weeks worth of material. 2 lovely lessons plus 2 awesome assignments. But there was still something missing…
Then one day, the missing piece hit me like a brick on the head. Of course! How could I have overlooked something so obvious?
When I put this missing piece into place, the curriculum all fit together perfectly, as if it had been designed as one solid piece instead of three.
With pride, I call this course Pathfinding 101, because it’s the perfect starting point for finding your path.
(What’s the missing piece? I’ll share it with you in week 3 of class!)
Can I accomplish all this in just 3 weeks?
To find your path, remove the obstacles blocking you, and take some bold steps forward, it will take more than 3 weeks. (I’ve found that it often takes about 6 months.)
But in just 3 weeks, yes, you can learn the basics of how to find and use your compass. Yes, you can learn how to find your path. Yes, you can learn what you need to know to keep on the trail. After that, it’ll be up to you to continue applying what you’ve learned. I have faith in you.
Big goals, I know. But I’m confident that I can help you get there if you’re willing to make this commitment to yourself.
But you don’t have to take my word for it! Here’s what some past Pathfinding 101 students have said about the course:
Although I’ve consumed everything there is on the topic already (and even have coached people on it), the information in Pathfinding 101 was new and profound.
Some time after taking the class, I had a difficult decision to make. Something I normally anguish over. Two close friends told me to turn left. Something that 1) influences me a lot and 2) makes me anguish even more over my decision when I kind of feel that I maybe kind of want to go right.
But thanks to the heart compass and my jewel (which I found in the class: persistent strength), I took the decision within 24 hours and went ahead acting on it. Going right.
In the beginning, I was a little concerned that the only purpose of the course was a marketing ploy to attract clients to the longer Pathfinding Program. At the end, I feel like that is obviously true but not in a negative way. A shorter, bite-sized course is a great way to get a taste without a substantial commitment and it’s a way to make sure that Pace’s methods are in alignment with the client’s beliefs.
The one-on-one call with Pace was superb and helpful. Pace is generous with her time, knowledge, and support. I’m very grateful for her presence.
This course was the perfect length – 3 weeks was a powerful “booster pack” to get the ball rolling with my pathfinding journey. I loved how the tasks were achievable and easy to incorporate into a busy schedule (and the live calls were so inclusive and really fun). I’ve started to get my mojo back in a very noticeable way!
I have been wanting to get more in touch w/ my heart and this class gave me specific tools to work with, rather than just “listen to your heart.”
I am working with the compass practice we learned in Class 2 – noting the difference between yes and no – and it is getting clearer. I have started using it to answer more meaningful questions, and that feels like a relief to my overly active logical mind that has always tried to figure things out.
Overall, I loved the class and felt like it was the perfect thing for me at this time. I didn’t want a long term commitment and tons of work, I just wanted a tool to work with myself for the future. The class was exactly that for me and fulfilled its promise. (<- something a lot of classes do NOT do!)
I also REALLY appreciate your energy and enthusiasm and sense of humor.
My promise to youIf you don’t get the results you’re hoping for, you get your money back. I’m confident I can help you if you’re willing to enter this course with an open heart and the commitment to do the work.
What I ask of youI ask that you commit just 3 hours of your time per week to this course (1 hour for class, 2 hours for the assignment), plus 5 minutes a day (for a short daily practice).
If you can do that, I can help you. And if you’re not satisfied, I’ll wholeheartedly refund your money with no hassle.
