Random Factoids about Pace and Kyeli

In the interest of connection (and fun, let’s not forget fun), we offer you a few random factoids about Pace and Kyeli.

Pace

I love Dance Dance Revolution. I used to play it competitively, and I was one of the top 3 players in Texas for a few years. These days, my accuracy has gone up, but my stamina has gone down.

My favorite type of fiction is far future transhumanist sci-fi. This is the kind that’s not set in 2030 or 2100, but something crazy like 20,000. I like my mind to be blown away by far-out ideas.

I carry an emergency backup spleen with me everywhere I go. You never know when one might come in handy.

I was voted “Most Unique” in my high school yearbook.

The highest number of people I have dated at the same time is 8. It was pretty crazy and imploded rather quickly.

My favorite words, in alphabetical order because I can’t bear to choose a favorite, are:

  • convolve
  • esperanza
  • Nyarlathotep
  • optimal
  • orthogonal
  • palimpsest
  • parsimonious
  • quintessence
  • sesquipedalian
  • tyhjä

Whenever I encounter a thimble, I completely freak out, especially if it makes any sort of noise. This rarely comes up, because you don’t see thimbles very often these days. It’s pretty funny, so feel free to bring out the thimbles if you see me in meatspace. (Did you even know this, Kyeli? I don’t think it’s ever come up in the 6 years we’ve known each other.)

My favorite video game is Aquaria.

My favorite non-video games are Boggle and Zendo. I’m quite good at both of them.

My favorite type of humor is the non sequitur.

My second-favorite type of humor is the bagel I had for breakfast last Tuesday.

Kyeli

I have several tattoos and a few interesting piercings*. Yes, you can see them. *Piercings subject to change.

I write microfiction, fiction, and non-fiction. I’m planning to put them all in the same place somewhere soon.

I have a ridiculous passion for stripy socks.

I have a ridiculous passion for owls and octopi.

Teal and pomegranate red are my favorite colors.

I love the word factoid – but my favorite word is sheeps. I find the weirdest excuses to drop that one into conversation as often as possible.

I finally admitted to being a fan of musicals. Like, two weeks ago.

I prefer to consider myself a helper gnome, as opposed to a helper mouse or a helper elf or a helper faery. Nothing against mouses or elves or faeries – gnome just suits me better.

I favor pirates over ninjas.

I have paralyzing fears of zombies and crickets.

My favorite movie is Amélie. My favorite non-fiction book is Someday My Prince Will Come by Jerramy Fine and my favorite fiction book is A Hat Full of Sky by Terry Pratchett and my favorite singer is Alanis Morissette and my favorite show is Pushing Daisies.

I am a hopeless romantic. I’m also a dreamer, I’m naïve, fragile, sensitive, and I still believe in faeries. Live with several, in fact. And I plan to stay this way. (:
