When you think of a productive person, what image comes to your mind?
I imagine a dark-haired man on a treadmill desk, walking while working.
I imagine a slim, mysterious figure in a business suit dictating emails while driving.
I imagine a woman with curly red hair drinking a smoothie, then writing a blog post, then doing some carpentry, then designing a website, then running a mile.
Basically, I imagine a busy person accomplishing lots and lots of tasks very quickly, sometimes even at the same time, in a hurried but efficient way.
This image is SO WRONG.
Productivity isn’t about doing more stuff. It’s about getting the same amount of stuff done in less time, so you have more time to do the things you love.
And peaceful productivity is about getting the same amount of stuff done with less pain, with less resistance, so you feel more wholehearted about your day and about your life.
Imagine yourself checking your email, finishing, and feeling complete and wholehearted.
Imagine yourself working through your to-do list, knowing that you haven’t forgotten anything important and that you’ve got plenty of time to do everything that needs to get done.
Imagine yourself resting at the end of the day, leaning back with your shoulders dropped, thoroughly and completely relaxed because you know there’s nothing else you need to be doing instead.
That’s what productivity is supposed to feel like.
And that’s why I’m teaching Peaceful Productivity – because I want you to feel that way.
