The three paths from your heart to the world

You have a precious gift in your heart. It yearns to be shared, and you’re doing your best, but something just isn’t working. You’re showing up, but it feels like no one else is.

What to do? What’s the path forward?

The Pie-Maker’s Path: Work for someone else.

There’s a lot of hype in entrepreneur circles about how horrible it is to work for someone else. But, like all generalizations (all of them, I say!), there are exceptions. Working for someone else can be a perfect match if you can find someone who values you, with whom you communicate well, and who is skilled at what you’re struggling with: connecting your heart’s gift with the world.

The Painter’s Path: Ask for help doing the hard parts.

Hire or trade for the tasks you’re struggling with. If you aren’t skilled at creating websites, hire someone to create your website for you. If you aren’t technically skilled at writing, hire an editor or proofreader. (Some of the best writers I know aren’t that great with grammar and punctuation.) The Painter’s Path is the flipside of the Pie-Maker’s Path; you’re still focusing on your gift, but you’re managing others instead of working for someone else.

The Explorer’s Path: Ask for help learning the hard parts.

Find someone you trust who has already learned the skills you’re struggling with and can teach them to you effectively and compassionately. Read their blog. Read their books. Ask them for help. Hire them as a coach. Sign up for their courses. The Explorer’s Path requires stepping out of your comfort zone and into the area you’re struggling with, but having a strong, reliable guide makes the journey a lot less scary.

What is your path?

Which path calls to you? Is it one of these three? A combination? A fourth path? A mysterious path shrouded in fog? Or maybe the path is clear but there’s a big fat obstacle smack dab in the middle of it, and you’ve got no idea how to get around it.

If you would like help finding or moving forward on your path, I would be honored to be your guide. I’ve got two spots opening up soon for my Pathfinder Coaching. If something in this message has spoken to you, perhaps I can be of service to you. Let’s find out.

Whichever path you choose, I wish you a fruitful journey!

Feel clear and confident about your direction in life!
