Patti Digh was a delight – she’s smart, wry, and wonderful. We loved talking to her. She gives bold, down-to-earth advice with a chuckle that had me in giggles every time.

My favorite moment: “You have exactly what you need, right now. Just write.”

Don’t wait for the perfect pen, the perfect laptop. Don’t wait til you can afford an iPad. Don’t wait until your husband builds you a writing shed on a lazy susan in the backyard (just to, ya know, pull an example out of the air).

Take your unlined paper and your pencil nub and just write.

Also, don’t cut anyone up and put them in the freezer. That’ll crimp your writing practice for sure. Poor Wolfie.
